The purpose of this page is to share with other Berg relatives the research that I have done on our Berg family in Norway. This is dedicated to my late grandmother, Dorothy Gertrude Berg Tomren. Of course there is much more, but this is all I've had time to put on the web page so far. Special thanks also goes out to Lloyd Wakefield, who helped me find many of the necessary Norwegian records, and to my uncle Bob Berg, who provided me with my initial information.
There are over 100 Berg farms in Norway (You can see a list of all the farms by visiting Olaf Rygh Norwegian Farm Names). "Our" Berg farm is Farm Number 123 in Dalsbygda sogn, Tolga parish, Os municipality, Hedmark fylke, Norway. The farm is subdivided into different parts. Our ancestors come primarily from the subfarms called Boritsu (bnr.4) and Gruva.
I have uploaded my entire genealogy file to the free genealogy website Rootsweb. Here you can find a database of our Berg relatives, including ancestors dating back to the 1600's. Click here to enter the database. Below are some pages with photos and more information about my Berg ancestors who came to America.
